With EB-5 Michigan Regional Center (MRC) you and your whole family can become legal US immigrants by investing your US$500,000 in qualified EB-5 companies in the State of Michigan, United States.
MRC was formed for the purpose of applying for and receipt of a regional center designation under the Immigrant Investor Pilot Program created by Section 610 of Public Law 102-395.
MRC is a private economic unit engaged in the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation and increased domestic capital investment in the State of Michigan.
All of the managing members of MRC have expertise in investing in and managing investment in growth stage and early stage companies. Their collective experience allows the MRC to add significant value as an influential shareholder.
What's an EB-5?
The Immigrant Investor (EB-5) Pilot Program is designed to encourage foreign investment by providing a vehicle for investment in the form of an economic unit called a “Regional Center.”
What's a Regional Center, and what can it do?
• The Regional Centers are private or public entities that have received US federal government approval to participate in the program. They enable the amassing and pooling of capital for targeted investment in designated regions in the United States.
• For the Investor, these Regional Centers are attractive because they allow for a less restrictive job creation requirement. Instead of having to prove direct job creation, the investor may show indirect job creation through such methods as economic and statistic forecasting tools.
What and where is the EB-5 MRC and what does it do?
The Regional Center will only contain rural areas and metropolitan areas with populations under 20,000. At right is a map that illustrates the contiguous geographic area encompassing the Regional Center, the metropolitan areas with populations under 20,000 and those metropolitan areas with populations over 20,000, which are excluded from the EB-5 MRC Regional Center.
How many EB-5 Centers are in the country and in Michigan?
In total, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) says it has approved 73 centers in 24 states and expects there to be over 100. The only other EB-5 we know of in Michigan is EB-5 IMI Regional Center managed, in part, by Gary McRay of Foster, Swift, Collins, and Smith. Since 2006 over $1 billion has been invested resulting in over 20,000 new jobs.
What characteristics must EB-5 MRC investments possess to qualify?
They must:
1. Be related to alternative energy.
2. Be either a new company or an existing company that has experienced a 40% drop in employment from the previous fiscal year.
3. Be located in the authorized geographic area.
4. Demonstrate and verify the economic impact on the regional economy (10 direct or indirect jobs per $500K invested for 5 years).
5. Have all their legal documents in order.
6. Make sure the private placement document treats all classes of investors equally.
7. Ideally have an investment strategy that pays a small percentage of interest annually (3% to 5%) on the investment and a clear path for the investor to exit with their initial capital in 5 to 7 years.
What are foreign investors looking for?
The country we are focusing on is the People’s Republic of China. We have met with several qualified investors. They have told us they are looking for us to actively assist them with:
1. Complete immigration assistance via their EB-5 investment.
2. Low risk investments.
3. Active assistance getting their children into the US educational systems.
4. Extending their business relationship with the US, either for their own interest or for their children’s interest.
How do we differentiate ourselves from other EB-5s?
1. We will actively assist our clients with their goal of obtaining the US government issued Permanent Resident status (the Green Card) for themselves and their family through the EB-5 Pilot Program.
2. We will assist our clients in their efforts to enroll their children in US colleges and universities.
3. We will work aggressively with the various economic development agencies to provide our clients full assistance on relocating their business and residencies.
What's our approach?
1. We will select the best opportunities by working hand-in-hand with local investment groups.
2. We will develop comprehensive investment and promotional materials for each of our investment opportunities.
3. We will make sure that everything is done in accordance with the laws of both countries.
4. We will maintain a fully staffed office in the PRC and only work with registered EB-5 brokers.
5. At the election of the seller, we can promote our EB-5 opportunities on the largest financial television network in the PRC.
6. We will manage all the reporting requirements (both here and in China).
7. We will do everything we can to make this the best place to invest in the United States.
